Aug 28 2004 BIG FLOUNDER
The flounder on are fire. any wreck or hard bottom area right off of the Carolina or Wrightsville beach is on fire with flounder. a Carolina rig and a small to mid sized mullet work nicely. had a charter today and we caught 5 in about a hour, all were in the 4 to 5 pound range, we kept 2 and threw back some smaller ones as well. one of the 4 pounders came up with both of our lines in his mouth and the lines were no where near each other! just basically throw out the line, let it sit for awhile and reel em in. awesome day. we picked up 1 gray trout as well. try ultra light tackle, we had a blast using it today.
inshore we lost a nice red to the dock and picked up a nice small red about 16″ which we slid back in to grow up!
got a few blues. we worked tons of docks and ledges and the inlet, the reds seem scattered, just be patient and you will be rewarded.
