Topsial Island Fishing Report

Filed under: Fishing Reports — Reel Adventure @ 1:28 am

The Wrightsville Beach and Carolina Beach fishing is ON FIRE!! We are hooking up with 20-40 Amberjacks per trip. These fish weigh 25-45 lbs and are hitting flys, large popping plugs and live bait. This is all topwater action! You see everyfish. Not only are we seeing the fish before we catch them, we are seeing huge leather back turtles everywhere. Today we even had a estimated 300lb tiger shark beside the boat! And if it couldnt get any better along comes the Cobia. We went 1 for 4 today with 2 of them free gaffed. If you free gaff one have your fish box open and slam them in or else! Dont day I didnt warn ya!

It is like National Geographic out there right now!

If you want to get into this action give us a call! Call to reserve your date! The fish will be here!

Carolina Beach Fishing Report

Filed under: Fishing Reports — Reel Adventure @ 2:17 am

The fishing is really heating up! Our Wrightsville Beach fishing and Carolina Beach fishing trips are doing well now that the wind has subsided. Let’s hope it stays that way!

Inshore: We have some nice redfish action going on right now. Try Gulp! or cut bait if you can’t find any live bait. (There is plenty of bait in the dredge pond.) The flounder bite is picking up a bit and there have been quite a few bluefish to play with near the inlets. These guys are a blast to sight cast to with a fly rod or light spinning gear. I expect the inshore fishing to EXPLODE when we get out first run of finger mullet.

Offshore: Right off the beach the Spanish Mackerel have been doing well. The wind has the Spanish bite messed up pretty bad but it is getting back to normal now. We have caught a lot of them sight casting, and trolling with Clark spoons. There are also a few Bonito still around but you better be quick on the cast! Further off shore there are LOT’s of spadefish at the Dredge Wreck along with some nice Spanish and small Kings. At the School house there are also some Kings with some Amberjacks mixed in. WR-4 is producing some nice Kings and Dolphin and the Kings have been a little larger at WR-4

Good luck, and I hope everyone has a safe and happy Memorial Day!

Wrightsville Beach Fishing Report

Filed under: Fishing Reports — Reel Adventure @ 1:39 am

Hello everyone! The spring fishing has been on fire. The Wrightsville Beach Fishing Charters have been great and this has been a awesome season and it should only get better. Our amberjack fishing is right around the corner and we are ready to pull on these hard fighting fish. This is prime top water and fly fishing for 30 – 70 lb amberjacks that will put you and your gear to the test.

Inshore our flounder and red fishing has been great. They are biting artificals and pretty much anything that moves.

Offshore the blues are on fire, the spanish are moving in and should take over. The kings are still pretty far out but they should be close very soon as the water temp is rapidy rising.

Now is the time to book your summer trips!

Reel Aventure Report 4-25-10

Filed under: Fishing Reports — Reel Adventure @ 1:25 am

The Wrightsville Beach fishingCarolina Beach fishing and Topsail Island fishing has improved tremendously over the past few days. Now is the time to book your trip! The fishing is great and it will only continue to get better!

Inshore: The redfish and black drum are STACKED UP on the docks of the ICW. Fresh shrimp and Berkley Gulp have been the top producers.

Near shore: The Bonito are thin at the Liberty Ship @ Wrightsville Beach. They are biting better at Divers Rock and are a fairly large class of Bonito. The Blue fish at the Liberty Ship have been on fire. We have caught many limits jigging the wreck in just a hour or two. There is also a fine opportunity for fly fisherman to hook into the blue fish. Have one person jig and when the other bluefish come up following the hooked one flip over a mylar clouser and hold on! Lots of fun on an 8wt. I Can’t wait to get them on the 6wt. The Gray Trout are also starting to show up and are nice sized fish.
